Storage Tutorial
This quick, three-step tutorial will help you determine
if you can store your new digital music library on your computer’s internal
hard drive or if you need to purchase additional storage from RipDigital.
Note: We have created separate tutorials for PC users and Mac users.

PC Users
1. Check your available space
a. Click on “My Computer”
b. User the right mouse button to click on “Local Disk (C):” and note the quantity next to Free. This is the free space available on your internal hard drive in Gb.
2. Determine the amount of space you need
a. Count the number of CDs you plan to convert
b. It takes about 10 Gb of storage to hold the music from 100 CDs
3. Step Three: Do the math
a. Subtract the result of Step 2 from Step 1
b. If the result is positive, you have enough space on your computer’s internal hard drive.
c. If the number is barely positive (i.e. 1Gb), you should consider adding storage.
d. If the number is negative, you need to purchase additional storage space for your digital music library. Don’t worry, we’ll show you how to set up your portable hard drive. It’s easy.

a. On your desktop, click on the icon for your internal hard drive (usually called "Macintosh HD")
b.The amount of available space on your hard drive is listed at the top of the resulting window.
